One Price List for Every Plumbing Quote and Booking
A customer calls Monday about a water heater replacement and gets one number. Their neighbor calls Wednesday and gets another from a different tech. A pricebook gives the office, your techs and your online booking page one list of prices to start from.
Included in Pro and Enterprise · No separate plumbing plan

Three plumbers, three prices for the same water heater
The neighbors talk. Now you are explaining your pricing in a review instead of on a quote.
Flat rate pricing fixes that by giving everyone the same list. Your pricebook holds your services, your labor and your materials, each with a name, a unit and a price. Build it once, and every quote draws from it.
Both work. They suit different jobs.
Time and materials bills the hours and the parts. It is fair on jobs you cannot scope until you open the wall, and easy to explain. The downside is that the customer does not know the price until the end, and a slow tech costs them more than a fast one. Flat rate quotes one price for a defined task before the work starts. The customer can say yes or no up front, and the office can quote common jobs without sending anyone out. The downside is that you have to price every line carefully, because you eat the overrun. Most plumbing shops end up with both: flat rate for repeatable work like drain clears, fixture swaps and shut-off valves, and hourly labor for jobs nobody can scope. The pricebook holds services, labor lines and materials, and a labor line can be priced by the hour. Still deciding? Read flat rate vs. time and materials.
How the Pricebook Works for a Plumbing Shop
Services, Labor and Materials
One list, your prices. A service can bundle its materials, so the parts that go with a water heater swap come onto the quote with it and nothing gets left off.
Good, Better, Best on One Quote
Put up to three options on one quote: repair the old valve, replace it with a standard one, or replace it and add a pressure-reducing valve. Name each option and mark the one you recommend. More on quotes.
Signed Online, With a Deposit
The customer opens the quote from an emailed link or their customer portal, picks an option and signs on their phone. When online payments are turned on, you can take a deposit, and it comes off the final invoice.
The Signed Price Is the Job Price
One click turns the accepted quote into a job, and the invoice bills the chosen option at the signed price. Nobody retypes it, so nobody fat-fingers it.
The same list feeds your booking page. For each service you choose whether customers see a starting price, a free estimate or "quoted on site".
How to price a flat-rate plumbing line
A common way to set a flat rate is to add up four things: the labor time, your parts cost with your markup, a share of overhead, and the profit you want.
Labor time: the hours on site plus drive and setup, priced at your fully loaded labor rate, meaning wages plus the benefits and payroll costs you pay on top. Parts: what you pay for them, with your markup applied. Overhead and profit: from your own books. This is the part that differs most from shop to shop.Price from the slower half of your techs' times, not your fastest tech. The fast ones earn you margin, and the slow ones should not lose you money. Once a line is in the pricebook, job profitability shows whether jobs come in at the margin you planned. For the full walkthrough, read how to build a flat-rate price book.
Member pricing without a second price list
If you sell a plumbing maintenance plan, members get member pricing on their quotes and invoices, applied to your normal pricebook prices. A pricebook item can carry its own member price, and the bigger saving per line applies, never both. If the office also gives a discount, the larger one applies and the two never add together. See plumbing maintenance agreements.
Which plan has the pricebook
The pricebook, good, better and best quotes, e-signature and deposits are on Pro, along with the online booking page. On Enterprise, a pricebook material can be linked to an inventory part so its price follows the part. See the main pricebook page and pricing.
More on Pricing Plumbing Work
Plumbing Pricebook Questions
What is flat rate pricing for plumbers?
Quoting one fixed price for a defined task before the work starts, instead of billing hours and parts afterward.
Is flat rate or time and materials better for a plumbing business?
Flat rate suits repeatable jobs where you know the time. Time and materials suits work you cannot scope until you open things up. Most shops use both, and the pricebook holds both kinds of line.
How do I build a plumbing price book?
List your most common jobs, estimate the time for each from real job history, apply a loaded labor rate, add parts with your markup, then add overhead and profit. Start with your top jobs, not every possible task.
How often should I update my pricebook?
Whenever your parts costs or labor rates change, and at least once a year. Job profitability shows which lines are coming in under target.
Can I offer good, better and best options on one quote?
Yes. A quote can carry up to three options, and the customer picks one when they sign.
Do online bookings use the same prices?
Yes. The booking page reads services from your pricebook. For each service you choose whether it shows a starting price, a free estimate or quoted on site.
Can my techs build quotes on their phones?
Not today. Owners, managers and dispatchers build and send quotes in the web app. Technicians can open a quote to see what the customer agreed to.
Is there a separate plumbing plan?
No. The pricebook is included in Pro and Enterprise for every trade.
