Booking Widget

Enterprise feature

The booking widget is included with the Enterprise plan. On the Pro plan, the widget section of the Share & SEO tab shows an upgrade note instead. Compare plans to find the right fit for your business.

The booking widget puts your booking page inside your own website. Customers pick a service, choose an arrival window and send a service request without leaving your site. Requests arrive in the same place as requests from your booking page, and you review each one before anything is scheduled.

Open it from the side menu: Operations → Booking Page, then choose the Share & SEO tab and scroll to Booking widget for your website. Owners and managers can change it.

Before you start

  • Your booking page must be live. The widget shows the same services, arrival windows and settings as your booking page. See Booking Page to set it up.
  • You need to be able to add code to your website. If someone else looks after your website, send them the code and the notes on this page.
  • Your website must use https://. Websites that still open with http:// can't show the widget.

Add the websites that can show the widget

Only the websites you list can show your widget. If someone copies your code onto a site you haven't listed, their visitors see a plain link to your booking page instead.

  1. In Website address, type the address exactly as it appears in your browser when you open your website, for example https://www.acmehvac.com.
  2. Select Add website. The address is saved straight away and appears in the list.
  3. Repeat for each website, up to 10.

List www and the plain address separately

https://www.acmehvac.com and https://acmehvac.com count as two different websites. If your website opens at both, add both. The same goes for any other subdomain, such as https://shop.acmehvac.com.

Type only the start of the address. A page path such as https://www.acmehvac.com/contact is refused; add https://www.acmehvac.com and the widget works on every page of that website. Addresses with a * wildcard, http://, localhost or a bare IP address can't be added.

To stop a website from showing the widget, select Remove next to it. Visitors to that website see the plain link to your booking page within a few minutes.

Put the code on your website

Once your page is live and at least one website is listed, the tab shows Code for your website.

  1. Select Copy code.
  2. Paste the code into your website where the widget should appear, for example on your contact or services page.
  3. Save and publish the page on your website, then open it to check the widget loads.

The code includes a link to your booking page. Visitors see that link while the widget loads, and keep seeing it if the widget can't load for any reason, so nobody is left without a way to book.

Keep the code exactly as copied

The code loads a small script from FSM Navigator. Don't download the script and host it on your own server; a copy won't work. Loading it from the address in the code also means you get fixes automatically.

If your website doesn't allow scripts

Some websites let you add a frame but not a script. Under If your website does not allow scripts, the tab shows simpler code for those. Select its Copy code button and paste it the same way. The widget then has a fixed height, so a long form may scroll inside its own box, and there is no fallback link if it can't load.

If the widget doesn't show

Most problems come from one of these:

What you see What to check
Only the link to your booking page The website address in your browser isn't in your list. Check for www. and for a different subdomain.
Only the link, on a website builder Some website builders put custom code in a separate sealed box, often called an HTML embed or custom code block, that runs on the builder's own address. The widget can't show inside those boxes. Paste the code into the page itself instead, or ask your website builder how to add code directly to a page.
Only the link, and your address is listed Your website may block outside scripts and frames with a security setting called a Content Security Policy. Ask whoever manages your website to allow FSM Navigator's address for both scripts and frames.
The link only, on every website Check the Status tab. The widget works only while your booking page is live.

Changing plans

If your company moves from Enterprise to another plan, your list of websites is kept but the widget stops. Your websites show the plain link to your booking page instead, so customers can still book. If you move back to Enterprise, the widget starts working again with the same list and the same code.
