Notification preferences

FSM Navigator sends notifications to keep you informed about job assignments, status changes, SLA deadlines, chat messages, and invoicing events. Each user controls their own notification preferences — you choose what you receive and how you receive it.

Open your profile name in the top-right corner and select Notification Preferences to get started.

Per-user setting

Notification preferences are personal. Each team member configures their own alerts independently. There is no company-wide override.

Notification types

You can toggle each notification type on or off. The table below lists every available notification.

Notification Description Default
Job assigned You are assigned to a new job On
Job status change A job you are involved with changes status On
SLA warning A job's SLA deadline is approaching On
SLA breached A job's SLA deadline has passed On
Chat message A new message is posted in a job chat On
Invoice created A new invoice is generated On
Invoice paid A customer payment is recorded On
Team member joined A new user accepts an invitation Off
Recurring job generated A scheduled recurring job is created Off

Toggling a notification type

  1. Open Notification Preferences.
  2. Find the notification type you want to change.
  3. Toggle the switch to On or Off.
  4. Click Save.

Delivery channels

For each notification type, you can choose one or more delivery channels.

Channel Description
In-app A badge and notification appear inside the FSM Navigator dashboard
Push A push notification is sent to the FSM Navigator mobile app
Email An email is sent to your registered email address

Recommended setup

Enable push for time-sensitive alerts like SLA warnings, and email for end-of-day summaries like invoice creation. Use in-app as a catch-all so you never miss an update.

Configuring channels

  1. Open Notification Preferences.
  2. For each notification type, check or uncheck the In-app, Push, and Email columns.
  3. Click Save.

Push notifications require the mobile app

Push notifications are delivered through the FSM Navigator mobile app. Make sure you have the app installed and push permissions enabled on your device.

Quiet hours

Quiet hours pause push and email notifications during off-hours so you are not disturbed outside of work. In-app notifications still accumulate silently and are visible when you next open the dashboard.

Setting quiet hours

  1. Open Notification Preferences.
  2. Toggle Enable quiet hours to On.
  3. Set the Start time (e.g., 8:00 PM).
  4. Set the End time (e.g., 7:00 AM).
  5. Click Save.
Setting Description Example
Start time When quiet hours begin 8:00 PM
End time When quiet hours end 7:00 AM

Timezone aware

Quiet hours follow your company's configured timezone. See Company Information to verify your timezone.

During quiet hours:

  • Push notifications are held and not delivered.
  • Email notifications are queued and sent when quiet hours end.
  • In-app notifications are recorded immediately but produce no sound or popup.

Different roles typically benefit from different notification configurations.

Role Recommended notifications Suggested channels
Owner All notifications In-app + email
Dispatcher Job assigned, status change, SLA warning In-app + push
Technician Job assigned, chat message Push

Start broad, then refine

Enable all notifications when you first set up your account. After a week, turn off any alerts that feel noisy. This approach ensures you do not miss important events while you learn the system.

Telegram notifications

Owners on the Pro plan and above can enable Telegram notifications to receive real-time alerts in a Telegram chat. This is useful for monitoring critical events — such as SLA breaches, payment failures, or security alerts — without opening the FSM Navigator dashboard.

To configure Telegram notifications, navigate to Settings → Company Settings → Notifications and enter your Telegram bot token and chat ID. Once connected, the system sends alerts based on the same notification types listed above.

Pro feature

Telegram notifications require a Pro or Enterprise subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Can an Owner configure notifications for other users?

No. Notification preferences are personal — each user must set their own. Owners can remind team members to configure their alerts but cannot change them on their behalf.

What happens if I turn off all channels for a notification?

You will not receive that notification at all. The event still occurs and is recorded in the system, but you will not be alerted.

Do quiet hours affect SLA timers?

No. SLA timers continue counting regardless of your notification preferences. Quiet hours only control when you receive alerts — they do not pause any business logic.

Can I set different quiet hours for weekdays and weekends?

Quiet hours apply the same schedule every day. If you need different behavior on weekends, adjust your quiet hours at the start and end of each week.
