Getting started with the mobile app

This guide walks you through installing FSM Navigator on your phone, signing in for the first time, and exploring the main screens so you can start working in the field right away.


Download the app

FSM Navigator is available as a free download on both major platforms.

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Search for FSM Navigator.
  3. Tap Get to install the app.
  4. Wait for the download to complete, then tap Open.
  1. Open Google Play on your Android device.
  2. Search for FSM Navigator.
  3. Tap Install.
  4. Once installation finishes, tap Open.

Device requirements

The app requires iOS 15.0 or later, or Android 10 (API 29) or later. Make sure your device software is up to date before installing.


Log in for the first time

You use the same credentials on mobile that you use on the web.

  1. Open the FSM Navigator app.
  2. Enter your email address and password.
  3. If your company requires multi-factor authentication, enter the verification code from your authenticator app.
  4. Tap Sign In.

After a successful login, you land on the Home screen.

Stay signed in

The mobile app keeps your session active for 30 days. You only need to log in again if you explicitly sign out or your account is deactivated.


Home screen overview

The home screen gives you an at-a-glance view of your day.

Section What it shows
Today's jobs A summary of jobs assigned to you today, grouped by status.
Upcoming jobs Jobs scheduled for the next few days.
Quick actions Shortcuts to create a job, scan a barcode, or open the map.
Notifications badge A count of unread notifications on the bell icon.

The app uses a bottom tab bar to move between the main sections.

Home Today's schedule, quick actions, and job summary.
Jobs Full list of your assigned jobs with search and filters.
Chat Team messaging organized by job.
Notifications Alerts for new assignments, status changes, and SLA warnings.
Account Profile settings, app preferences, and sign-out.

Pull to refresh

On any list screen, pull down to refresh the data and load the latest jobs and notifications.


Configure your account

Tap the Account tab to access your profile and preferences.

Profile settings

  • Name and phone number — Keep your contact information current so dispatchers can reach you.
  • Password — Change your password directly from the app.

App preferences

Setting Description
Notifications Choose which alert types you want to receive. See Push notifications.
Quiet hours Set a window during which notifications are silenced.
Theme Switch between light mode, dark mode, or match your system setting.

Allow permissions

When you first use certain features, the app asks for device permissions. Grant these for the best experience.

Permission Why it's needed
Notifications Receive real-time alerts for new jobs and updates.
Camera Capture job photos and scan barcodes.
Location Enable navigation to job sites and support location-based features.
Photo library Attach existing photos to a job.

Notification permission is important

If you decline notification permission, you will not receive alerts when new jobs are assigned. You can enable it later in your device's system settings.


Verify your connection

After logging in, confirm that your data is syncing correctly:

  1. Open the Jobs tab.
  2. Verify that you see your currently assigned jobs.
  3. Open one job and confirm the details match what you see on the web dashboard.

If you see an empty list and you know you have assigned jobs, check your internet connection and pull down to refresh.


Frequently asked questions

Can I use the app on a tablet?

Yes. FSM Navigator works on both phones and tablets. On larger screens, the app takes advantage of the extra space to show more detail.

What if I forget my password?

Tap Forgot password? on the login screen. You receive a password-reset email at your registered address. See Password reset for details.

Can multiple people sign in on the same device?

Only one account can be signed in at a time. To switch accounts, sign out from the Account tab and sign in with different credentials.

Does the app work on older devices?

The app requires iOS 15+ or Android 10+. Older operating systems are not supported due to security and performance requirements.
